Integrating all of ourselves
in finding harmony
My Story
I'm Arman Bhatti (pronounced AR-min BAT-tee), a psychiatrist based in Walnut Creek California offering compassionate, comprehensive mental health care throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m a second-generation immigrant, a brother, and a partner. When I'm not in clinic, I enjoy exploring the natural beauty of California, cooking in my kitchen, and visiting with friends and family.
My journey to psychiatry began with an undergraduate degree in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley before pursuing a combined MD and MBA degree at Albany Medical College in New York, where I was honored to be a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Prior to returning home to California, I completed a four-year psychiatry residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
During medical school the essential role mental health plays in our well-being resonated deeply with me, inspiring me to choose psychiatry as my career. I’m grateful to have trained in a variety of settings, along with learning from and serving people of all walks of life.
My Philosophy
My approach to mental health is informed by the academic, evidence-based medical training I've completed and the natural, intuitive traditions of my heritage. I believe in a back to basics approach to psychiatric care, examining and addressing the factors that form the bedrock of mental health. As the descendant of farmers, the importance of water was taught to me from an early age. Water, the basis of all life, represents my commitment to this approach and symbolizes the flexibility that is so helpful in overcoming the obstacles that inevitably emerge along the path to better mental health.
By drawing on both my training and heritage, I encourage my clients to employ a wide range of treatment approaches beyond traditional psychotherapy and medications. This includes mindfulness, meditation, yoga, biofeedback and stress management techniques. I aim to nourish all areas that impact mental health including nutrition, exercise, lifestyle and relationships while considering each individuals identity, culture, and spirituality.
The clients best suited to my practice are those with a natural curiosity about themselves and who are eager for change. I recognize that each one of my clients is a whole person with their own unique story, strengths, and talents. By providing them with insights, tools and compassionate support, I help them make real progress toward their goals.
