Frequently Asked Questions

  • I take a holistic approach to mental health care. While I may recommend medications as a part of your treatment plan, it is often in conjunction with other interventions including optimizing nutrition, exercise, lifestyle and relationships in addition to traditional psychotherapy, mindfulness, meditation, and stress management techniques. I do not currently prescribe controlled substances given the lack of a physical location to conduct in person examinations. Furthermore, I have found that the risks of such medications often outweigh the benefits. To learn more about my approach, click here.

  • I work with individuals aged 18 years or older. I have experience working with people from all walks of life including individuals of various racial, cultural, spiritual, gender, and sexual identities. The clients best suited to my practice are those with a natural curiosity about themselves and who are eager for change.

  • I treat a wide range of mental health issues including ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar, OCD, sleep issues, burnout, stress, and trauma among others. For a full list of my services, click here.

  • I'm currently based in Walnut Creek California and offer my services to those in the San Francisco Bay Area. I deliver my services virtually via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Clients must be physically located in California at the time of all telehealth appointments.

  • I do not currently offer appointments in person. Based on my clients needs, I may offer in person appointments at some point in the future.

  • I am currently out of network with all health and insurance plans. My practice operates on a fee for service model and accepts payments via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover). If you'd like to take advantage of any out of network benefits you may have, I can provide a superbill at your request. I'm partnered with Reimbursify to help make it easier for you to submit claims to your health or insurance plan.

  • If after the initial evaluation either of us feels we are not a good fit for each other, I will provide you with alternative sources of medical care to pursue. Given the virtual nature of my practice, there may be rare circumstances where the services I offer via telepsychiatry may not offer the intensity or scope of treatment you require. Some of these scenarios include serious substance use, complicated or severe eating disorders, or active safety risks. If we both agree we're a good fit for each other, we'll implement a treatment plan we've developed together.
